Schema markup generator

JSON-LD schema,
without the guesswork.

Fill in a form, get a JSON-LD script block for FAQPage, Article, LocalBusiness or Organization, with hints for missing required fields. Then check it in Google's Rich Results Test.

FAQPage

Only mark up questions and answers that are visible on the page. Google limits FAQ rich results to a small set of sites, so treat them as a bonus.

Article (BlogPosting)
LocalBusiness
Organization

Validation hints

Always validate with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator. Valid markup does not guarantee rich results. Nothing you type leaves your browser. No review or rating schema is offered: fake ones break Google's guidelines.

    How to use it

    1. 1
      Pick a schema type

Choose FAQPage, Article (BlogPosting), LocalBusiness or Organization, then fill in the form. Required fields are marked, and the hints under the output tell you what is missing.

    2. 2
      Copy or download the JSON-LD

The output is a ready-to-paste <script type="application/ld+json"> block. Put it in the <head> or <body> of the page it describes. The content must match what visitors can see on that page.

    3. 3
      Validate it

Paste the live page URL or the code into Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator. Fix anything they flag, then request indexing in Search Console if you like.

    Questions

    What is schema markup (JSON-LD)?

Schema markup is structured data, using the schema.org vocabulary, that describes a page to search engines: that it is an article, a business, an FAQ and so on. JSON-LD is the format Google recommends. It sits in a script tag and does not change how the page looks.

Does schema markup guarantee rich results?

No. Valid markup makes a page eligible for some rich results, but Google decides whether to show them. Markup also does not directly make a page rank higher. Use it to describe the page accurately.

Why is there no review or rating schema?

Review and AggregateRating markup is only acceptable for real reviews that visitors can see on your page. Made-up or self-serving ratings go against Google's structured data guidelines and can lead to a manual action. A generator makes it too easy to invent them, so this one leaves them out. Product schema is left out too, because a useful one needs offers and live prices.

Will my FAQPage markup show as an FAQ rich result?

Probably not. Google has limited FAQ rich results to a small set of sites, and the markup can still help describe the page. Add FAQ markup only for questions and answers that are visible on the page, and do not expect the rich result.

Where do I put the JSON-LD on my page?

Anywhere in the HTML head or body of the page it describes. Most CMS and SEO plugins also have a custom code or schema field. Each page should describe itself: do not copy one page's markup onto another.

    Which fields are required?

It depends on the type. Google asks for name and address on a LocalBusiness, and for questions with accepted answers on an FAQPage. Article has no strictly required properties, but Google recommends headline, image, author and dates. The hints under the output follow Google's documentation at the time of writing, so check the current docs and the Rich Results Test.

Why must dates be ISO 8601 and URLs absolute?

Crawlers parse dates in ISO 8601 format, like 2026-03-15 or 2026-03-15T09:30:00+01:00. URLs should be full, like https://example.com/page, because a relative path has no meaning outside your page.

    Is my input sent anywhere?

No. The markup is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
