FAQ schema generator
Turn your FAQ into
valid JSON-LD.
Paste a list of questions and answers and copy a ready FAQPage JSON-LD block for your page.
Free, no account, nothing leaves your browser.
How to use it
- 1Paste your questions and answers
One block per question: the question on the first line, the answer on the lines below, and a blank line between blocks. Q: and A: prefixes are fine and are removed.
- 2Check the notes under the output
The tool tells you about empty answers, duplicate questions and anything it left out. The JSON is parsed back before you copy it, so what you paste is valid JSON.
- 3Add it to the page, then test it
Paste the script block into the page head or body, make sure the same questions and answers are visible on the page, and run the URL through Google's Rich Results Test.
Questions
What is FAQPage schema?
FAQPage is a schema.org type that describes a page made of questions and their answers, written as JSON-LD in a script tag. It gives search engines and AI tools a structured copy of the FAQ that is already on your page.
Will it give me an FAQ rich result in Google?
Probably not. Google has limited FAQ rich results to a small set of well-known government and health sites, so most sites will not see one. The markup is still valid and can describe the page, but do not add it expecting a rich result.
Do the questions have to be on the page?
Yes. Mark up only questions and answers that visitors can actually see on the page. Markup for content that is not visible goes against Google's structured data guidelines.
Is the output safe to paste into a page?
The output is built with JSON.stringify, and the angle-bracket and ampersand characters are written as \u escapes, so an answer that contains a closing script tag cannot end the script block early. Your text is not changed for readers: the escapes decode back to the same characters.
Can I use HTML in answers?
Google allows a small set of tags in answers, such as links, lists and line breaks. This tool puts your text into the JSON exactly as typed, so any HTML you type is kept as HTML (escaped inside the JSON). It does not validate it.
Are there limits?
The tool uses up to 50 questions at once and keeps what you type in your browser only. It checks structure, not whether your answers are accurate or whether Google will accept the markup. Use the Rich Results Test for that.
How is this different from the schema markup generator?
The schema markup generator builds several types from a form. This page is built for one job: paste a whole FAQ at once and get a FAQPage block, with options for the script tag and for compact or readable JSON.
