What is title case?

Title case capitalizes the first and last word and the main words in between, and leaves short articles, conjunctions and prepositions lowercase unless they start or end the title. Style guides (AP, APA, Chicago, MLA) disagree on the details, for example on which prepositions count as short.

Which style guide does this follow?

None exactly. It uses a common rule set: always capitalize the first and last word, keep a short list of small words lowercase (a, an, the, and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet, as, at, by, in, of, off, on, per, to, up, via, vs, with) and capitalize everything else. If your publication follows AP, APA or Chicago, check the edge cases against its guide.

Should blog titles use title case or sentence case?

Both are used. There is no evidence in this tool or on this page that one ranks better. Pick one style, apply it to every title on your site and stay consistent.

Does it handle acronyms and brand names?

Words you typed fully in capitals (SEO, API, NASA) are kept as they are in title and sentence case. Mixed-case brands such as iPhone or WordPress are kept as typed. Names typed in lowercase are not recognised, so check them by hand.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.
