Setup
How you connect Wix.
- Step 1
Create a Wix API key
Generate a key with access to your site’s blog and paste it into Balzac. The help center has a guide.
- Step 2
Pick the site and the author
Balzac lists your Wix sites. Choose the one with your blog and the member who appears as the author of each post.
- Step 3
Turn on auto-publish
Switch it on and articles are published when they are ready, or publish and schedule them one by one.
What gets published
- Title, excerpt from the meta description and the article body, converted to Wix rich content: headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, quotes, links and images.
- The cover image, imported into your Wix media and used as the post’s cover.
- Balzac creates a draft post under the chosen author and publishes it. If the cover cannot be imported, the post is still published without it.
When you edit
- Edit an article in Balzac and the Wix post is updated and published again, in the same post.
- The cover goes again only when it changed.
- Wix posts keep the address they were created with: a new slug in Balzac does not move the post.

How does Balzac connect to Wix?
With a Wix API key. Balzac lists your sites, you choose the one with your blog, and you choose the author the posts are published under.
Does the formatting survive?
Balzac converts the article to Wix’s rich content format, covering headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, quotes, links and images, so the post is built from native Wix blocks rather than pasted HTML.
Can I change the URL of a Wix post from Balzac?
No. Wix posts keep the address they were created with, so changing the slug in Balzac does not move them.
Can I schedule articles?
Yes. Each article can be published now or scheduled for a date and time you pick, and a schedule can be cancelled before it runs.
Does it cost extra?
