Balzac + Webhook

Publish to any site with a webhook.

No native integration for your stack? Balzac sends each finished article to your endpoint as JSON. You build the page; the SEO fields and the schema markup arrive ready to use.

Setup

How you connect Webhook.

  1. Step 1

    Add your endpoint

Enter the URL that should receive the article. Everything in the URL, including a query string such as ?token=…, is sent exactly as written.

  2. Step 2

    Add a bearer token (optional)

If your endpoint expects one, Balzac sends it as an Authorization: Bearer header.

  3. Step 3

    Turn on auto-publish

Each article is POSTed when it is ready. Optionally turn on updates to be sent the article again after you edit it.

Step-by-step guide in the help center →

What gets published

  • A JSON POST with event “article.published”.
  • Fields: article_id, title, content (HTML), slug, description, cover_image (a URL), published_at, seo_title, seo_description and schema_json_ld.
  • schema_json_ld is a ready-made JSON-LD document as a string (BlogPosting, plus FAQPage) for a script tag of type application/ld+json.
  • Balzac does not know your page address, so no URL is sent. If your endpoint answers with an id, Balzac keeps it.

When you edit

  • Updates are off by default, because a receiver built for one call per article could create a duplicate post on each.
  • With updates on, an edited article is sent again with the event “article.updated”, the original published_at, an updated_at, and the external_id your endpoint answered with, so the receiver can find the post to change.

What you need

  • An endpoint you control that accepts a JSON POST.
  • Code on your side that turns the payload into a page (Balzac sends the content, not the layout).

FAQ

Balzac and Webhook, answered.

What does Balzac send?

A JSON object with the event, article_id, title, HTML content, slug, description, cover_image URL, published_at, seo_title, seo_description and schema_json_ld.

How do I secure the endpoint?

Optionally add a bearer token, sent as an Authorization header, or put a token or signature in the URL’s query string, which Balzac sends unchanged.

Will edits be sent again?

Only if you turn updates on for the webhook. The article is then sent again with the event “article.updated” and the id your endpoint returned.

Is there a way to do this without a webhook?

Yes. Balzac also has a REST API, an MCP server and a CLI, and you can copy any finished article in one click.

Can I schedule articles?

Yes. Each article can be published now or scheduled for a date and time you pick, and a schedule can be cancelled before it runs.

Does it cost extra?

Auto-publishing is part of the autopilot, so it needs an active plan. Your first 3 articles are free, no card needed, and your connection is saved either way.

Put Webhook on autopilot.

Type your website. Balzac finds your keywords, writes the articles and publishes them.
