AI SEO Content Pricing Per Article: 12 Tools Compared (October 2026)

AI SEO content costs anywhere from $0.32 to $11.80 per article across the 12 tools below, counting only plans that state an article count. The low end is SEOWriting.ai Professional ($79 for up to 250 articles). The high end is Scalenut Starter ($59 for 5 articles). If you want a done-for-you plan that writes and publishes about 30 articles, the price per article sits between $2.63 (Balzac) and $3.30 (Outrank, RankPill). Koala Writer charges by words, so there's no honest per-article figure for it: what you pay depends on how long your articles are.

These are list prices read from each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. They're in US dollars, as the vendors list them, and taxes or currency conversion may apply at checkout. They change often, so check before you buy. Keep one thing in mind as you read the table: the cheapest price per article isn't always the cheapest price per useful page, because the plans include very different amounts of work.

How the per-article numbers were calculated

The method is simple: list price divided by the article count the plan states, rounded to the cent. A few details change how you should read the results, though.

  • "Up to" counts assume you use everything. SEOWriting.ai and SEOwind give a maximum, not a fixed number, so their figures are the best case. If you publish fewer articles, your real cost per article goes up. Say you're on SEOWriting.ai Starter and publish 20 articles in a month: that's $19 ÷ 20, so about $0.95 each, not $0.38.
  • Balzac's ~30 includes rewrites. The count covers new pages and rewrites of pages that already rank on your site, so not all 30 are brand-new posts.
  • Some prices need a yearly commitment. Writesonic Starter and SEOwind Platform are quoted at annual billing, and RankPill's $2.75 is its yearly option. They aren't like-for-like with month-to-month prices, because you pay for (or commit to) a full year upfront.
  • Billing is shown only where the vendor states it. The Billing column says "Monthly" or "Billed annually" only where the vendor's listed plan states the period. "Not stated" means the billing period is unknown, not that it's monthly. Check the pricing page before you assume either.
  • Everything is in US dollars. Taxes or currency conversion may apply at checkout, so look at the checkout total, not just the headline price.
  • Koala Writer is word-based. It's left out of the calculation for that reason. To get your own per-article figure, divide the plan's word allowance by your typical article length, then divide the plan price by that number of articles. Long guides cost a lot more than short posts on this model.

All prices were read in October 2026. Vendors adjust plans regularly, so treat the table as a starting point and confirm on the pricing page before you pay.

What each plan includes

Ordered from the lowest available price per article to the highest, with Koala last since it can't be ranked on this measure. Plainly: SEOWriting.ai, NextBlog and BlogBuster all cost less per article than Balzac, the publisher of this page.

SEOWriting.ai

Starter is $19 a month for up to 50 articles; Professional is $79 a month for up to 250. That makes it the cheapest per article in this comparison, at $0.32 on Professional. It suits people who publish at high volume and will actually use most of the allowance. The catch is the "up to": the low unit price only holds if you produce close to the maximum.

NextBlog

Starter is $29 a month for 30 articles on one website, Growth is $49 for 60 on three websites, and Pro is $99 for 150 on unlimited websites. Per article it runs from $0.97 down to $0.66. It suits anyone running several sites, since Growth and Pro cover more than one website on a single plan. As with any low-cost tool, check what's included beyond the writing itself (see the next section).

BlogBuster

Starter is $18.90 for 10 articles, Growth $49.90 for 30, and Booster $79.90 for 60. The billing period isn't stated. It suits people who want a low entry price: $18.90 is the cheapest way to start in this list. The per-article cost drops from $1.89 to $1.33 as you move up.

Balzac

The Columnist plan is $79 a month per website for about 30 articles, counting new pages and rewrites of pages that already rank. That works out to $2.63 per article. Balzac researches the keywords, writes the articles and publishes them to WordPress, Webflow, Wix, GoHighLevel or any site via webhook. It suits one website that wants research, writing and publishing handled without manual work. The limit: it's one website per plan, so a second site means a second $79 plan.

Scalenut

Starter is $59 a month for 5 articles, Plus is $89 for 30, and Professional is $199 for 75. The per-article cost falls sharply as you go up, from $11.80 to $2.97 to $2.65. Plus auto-publishes to WordPress and Shopify. It suits people who'll commit to Plus or Professional; Starter is the most expensive per article in this whole comparison.

RankPill

Business is $99 a month for 30 articles ($3.30 each), or $82.50 a month billed yearly ($2.75 each). It suits people who are confident enough to commit for a year, since that's where the lower price comes from.

Outrank

Organic Growth is $99 for 30 articles; the listed plan doesn't state the billing period. You can add 30 more for $85 (60 articles, $184 total) or 60 more for $160 (90 articles, $259 total). Per article that's $3.30, $3.07 and $2.88. It suits people who expect to scale volume on one plan, because the add-ons lower the unit price.

BlogSEO

Ambition is $97 for 30 articles ($3.23 each), after a 3-day free trial. The billing period isn't stated. It suits people who want to try before paying, with a straightforward 30-article allowance.

Writesonic

Starter is $79 a month billed annually for 15 articles ($5.27 each). Basic is $199 for 25 articles ($7.96 each), and its billing period isn't stated. The thing to know: the Starter price requires annual billing, so the real commitment is a full year.

SEOwind

Platform is $189 a month billed annually for up to 20 articles, so $9.45 each if you use all 20. It's an annual commitment with a capped count, which puts it near the top of this table per article.

BrandWell RankWell

Essentials is $249 for 25 articles, Growth $499 for 50, Scale $999 for 100, with the billing period not stated. That's about $10 per article at every tier ($9.96, $9.98, $9.99). Worth knowing: buying more volume doesn't lower the unit price here, unlike Scalenut or Outrank.

Koala Writer

Plans are $25 for 45,000 words, $49 for 100,000 and $99 for 250,000. It suits people whose article length varies a lot, or who want to control spend by length rather than count. Work out your own per-article cost using your typical word count, as described above.

Why price per article is the wrong single number

Two tools can both say "30 articles" and deliver very different amounts of work. A $1 article you have to research, edit and paste into WordPress yourself can easily cost more in time than a $3 article that arrives published. Here's a hypothetical: say each article takes you 15 minutes to choose a keyword, paste, format and publish. At 30 articles a month, that's 7.5 hours of your time on top of the subscription.

Before comparing unit prices, check these four things on any tool's pricing or features page.

  1. Who picks the keywords? Some tools write whatever topic you type in. Others research which searches your site can realistically win. If you pick, the quality of your keyword research decides whether the articles ever get traffic.
  2. Does it publish to your site? Direct publishing to your CMS saves the copy-paste-format routine every single time. Scalenut Plus, for example, auto-publishes to WordPress and Shopify.
  3. Does it rewrite pages that already rank, or only add new ones? A page sitting just below the top results is often closer to bringing clicks than a brand-new page. A tool that only produces new posts leaves that work to you.
  4. Are the facts sourced? AI text can state things with confidence that aren't true. Articles that list where their facts came from are much faster to check before you let them go live.

As one example of what to look for, here's what Balzac's pricing page states its $79 plan includes:

  • About 30 articles, counting new pages for keywords your site can win plus rewrites of pages that already rank.
  • Up to 250 keywords tracked, with one page per keyword so you don't get two articles competing for the same search. It only targets searches with known search volume and low difficulty.
  • Each article is planned from the pages that rank for its keyword today, takes its facts from those pages and your own site, and lists its sources.
  • Before writing new pages, it improves the ones Google already shows: titles, meta descriptions, and rewrites of pages at positions 5 to 20.
  • Clicks per page from Google Search Console, every Monday.

For the other tools, don't assume either way. Open each pricing page and look for these four points specifically, or ask support. A plan that looks expensive per article can come out cheaper once you count the hours it saves, and the reverse is true too.

Which tool fits your situation

You want the lowest cost per article

Look at SEOWriting.ai ($0.32 to $0.38), NextBlog ($0.66 to $0.97) and BlogBuster ($1.33 to $1.89). All three are cheaper per article than Balzac's $2.63, and they're the cheapest options in this comparison. This route makes most sense if you're happy to handle keyword choice, editing and publishing yourself, or you already have a workflow for it.

You want done-for-you publishing on one website, about 30 articles a month

The options cluster closely on price:

  • Balzac: $79 a month, about 30 articles including rewrites of ranking pages, $2.63 each (one website per plan)
  • BlogSEO: $97, 30 articles, $3.23 each, after a 3-day free trial (billing period not stated)
  • Outrank: $99, 30 articles, $3.30 each, with add-ons if you need more (billing period not stated)
  • RankPill: $99 monthly ($3.30 each) or $82.50 billed yearly ($2.75 each)

With prices this close, the four questions above matter more than the cents. Compare what each one does with keywords, publishing, rewrites and sources.

You run several websites

NextBlog Growth ($49, 60 articles, 3 websites) and Pro ($99, 150 articles, unlimited websites) cover multiple sites on one plan. Balzac charges per website, so three sites would mean three Columnist plans.

You publish long articles of varying length

Koala Writer's word-based pricing lets you pay for length rather than count. Divide the plan's word allowance by your usual article length to see how many articles you'd actually get.

You want higher volume at a falling unit price

Scalenut drops from $11.80 per article on Starter to $2.65 on Professional at 75 articles. Outrank's add-ons take you from $3.30 to $2.88 each at 90 articles. BlogBuster falls from $1.89 to $1.33, and NextBlog from $0.97 to $0.66. BrandWell RankWell stays at $9.96 to $9.99 per article whatever the volume, so it's not the pick if unit price is what you're optimising.

Free trials and refunds

Testing before you commit is the best way to judge the four things that matter beyond price. Here are the terms recorded for this comparison:

  • Balzac: 3 free articles with no card needed. Paid plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first payment, and you can cancel anytime.
  • BlogSEO: a 3-day free trial before the Ambition plan.

No trial or refund terms were recorded for the other ten tools, which doesn't mean they don't offer any. Check each pricing page before signing up, and look closely at refund rules on any plan billed annually, since that's where you'd have the most money tied up. Prices change: everything on this page was read in October 2026, is in US dollars, and may carry taxes or currency conversion at checkout.
